One for the bedroom and one for the living area. Hairspray, perfume, cologne it will clean the air of those contaminants. Funny story: My grandson passed gas and the auto was set and it immediately came on to clean the air. Why should you breathe bad air? My granddaughter snores and now she sleeps peacefully when I put the unit on. When I'm home I use the auto-set. The outside blue light can be shut on and off with the remote control and the unit can be turned on without it. There is also a housing in the back for the remote to keep it out of the wrong hands. Sits nicely on my coffee table and tall dresser. What you see is what you get a large table unit not meant to be put on the floor. Stainless steel and glass. On low and medium settings the unit is quiet, you can hear it on medium and high. I am glad I purchased both of my units and I know I will be happy for a long time.

Very good quality and a great conversation piece! The price is right and I am living better. Thank you Walmart * Made in Japan Yes () No (0) Report Yes () No (0) We have used a living air unit for over 15 years. We gave one of them to my daughter who was beginning to have breathing problems.
air duct cleaning in apartmentWe have been looking for another unit to replace it and while looking at this unit decided to try it.
small air purifiers for smokersWe put it in the Motor Home and within two days my wife said that the air was so crisp and clean and that it is the best it has been in many years.
air purifier for restaurantWe have decided to put it in the house to see how it does for that air system. We really like the two year filter usage and the quietness of the unit.

When you put it on automatic, it comes on and off as needed when the air turns bad. By leaving the unit on automatic, it will prolong the filter life and keep the electricity bill lower. If the unit does the same for the house, we will purchase another one. Real nice features are the remote control and three fan speeds. Yes () No (9) Report Yes () No (9) We got two of these, one for the living room, and one for the bed room. We are both smokers, and we use a wood burner, so there is normally a huge amount of dust on everything daily. After we started using these units, there is noticeably less dust on everything. The house does definitely smell better, so its safe to say that these units are doing what they are supposed to do. We have found them to be quiet enough on all settings, so there is no problem sleeping in the same room with them, or hearing the tv or music. I like the pleasant blue light, it works great for a night light and a calming light. They do not take up much table space.

The filters are easy to clean, just shut the unit off, open it up, pull the filters out and run a vacuum on them, then just put the unit back together and turn it back on. I am very happy with these air purifiers. Yes (9) No (0) Report Yes (9) No (0) Verified purchaser I live in the Desert and my home was a Dust Bowl BEFORE I used this product! They are approx $59 but last 2 years so they are worth it. Yes () No (4) Report Yes () No (4) I am a smoker but if you were to enter my home you would not smell smoke of any kind altho it takes time to clean the air while I am smoking but when I wake up the air in the apt. is clean. I bought two of them and I live alone in a three bedroom and they are doig the job. I am sure that this is what a non smoker that lives with a smoker needs. I don't like to smell smoke lingering in the air I used to have to air out often. I don't waste the heat any more Thank you. Yes () No (7) Report Yes () No (7) I have tried many air purifiers and none compare to this one. I smoke and this is perfect for smokers. I run it 24 hrs a day and I also love the ion blue light around the purifier for a night light. People that dont smoke come in the house and can't tell I smoke. I love the automatic sensor and timer too. I am having trouble find a replacement filter online but other than that it is great.

It collects dust very good too. I just vaccum the filter weekly and you can even successfully wash the filter a few times before it needs replacement. Yes () No (9) Report Yes () No (9) We decided to purchase this air purifier because of the reviews it received and the price was right. Well it works even better than we ever imagined. Both of us go around blowing our noses and sniffling all day every day. It is sitting in the bedroom and we wanted to try it out before buying another one. This weekend we decided it was time to buy one for the living room and it should be here any day now. Almost bought the Blue-Air brand but honestly don't think it could possibly be as good as this one. Yes () No (2) Report Yes () No (2) I have had this machine for many years and it works great. The only problem is that I need replacement filters and none are available. I searched the internet but still cannot find new filters. Whether the smell is in your home or in your car, it’s one of the worst odors imaginable. Cigarette smoke isn’t a quaint smell like a wood furnace or a fireplace; it gets into everything: your carpets, your walls, your sheets, your clothes, your jackets, even in your hand bags. I think we’ve all known or have heard about that one aunt who smokes like a chimney and no one wants to visit her because her house smells like death—and now, thanks to her habit, she’s dead and it’s up to you to deodorize her house before your family puts it on the market. Or perhaps it’s up to you to get the smoke odor out of the ’89 Buick Century she managed to drive only on church days–or when she ran out of smokes. Well, hopefully the suggestions below will help you remove the smell of cigarette smoke. Probably the best bet for getting rid of smoke smell in your car is to dust your interior with scented Baking Soda, leaving it to sit for a day or two (with ventilation) and then vacuuming it up.

Otherwise you can try opening a can of coffee beans and leaving it to sit for a while–if you like the smell of coffee, that is. Coffee beans are a natural odor neutralizer. You may also want to check out How to get rid of Car Smells if there’s something underlying that smoke smell. There’s something about vinegar that gets rid of smoke smell. Because the smell of smoke is caused by the leftover resins and tars, vinegar (an acid that cuts through resin and tar) is a great way to clean those surfaces that aren’t made of fabric, and perhaps, some that are fabric. I know what you’re thinking; vinegar doesn’t smell much better than smoke. Well, that’s true, but the smell of vinegar eventually diminishes, cigarette smoke doesn’t. The carpets need to be shampooed if you want to remove smoke smell. You have a couple of options here; you can either go to your local hardware store and rent a carpet steam cleaner and shampoo the carpets yourself, or you can hire a professional to bring in a big truck and do the dirty work for you.

If you want to save money, the choice is obvious, and the guarantees some businesses will make these days smell funnier than the smoke odor you want them to remove. If you do go the professional business route, make sure they’re insured/bonded. Baking soda is a good way to get rid of smoke odor. Now, this takes time because what you want to do is get a box of Arm & Hammer, dust the furniture and the carpets (if they haven’t been shampooed), and leave the baking soda to settle for a day or so. That will give it time to absorb some of the smoke smell and any moisture around it. Then, vacuum it up and repeat the process a few more times over the course of a week. Use scented baking soda if you like, the important thing is for the smell to get soaked into the powder. Shades, curtains, and fixtures need to be cleaned to get rid of smoke odor. A lot of people forget to clean things like shades, chandeliers, curtains, and wall hangings, but these things have probably collected quite a bit of tar and resin from years of hanging smoke.

Do yourself a favor and put the curtains in the washer, buy new shades, and wipe down the chandelier with a good dose of ammonia, just to make sure that smell is gone. Fresh air is probably the best way to remove smoke smell and odor from a home. It turns out that opening the windows and doors every couple of days for a whole day will help get the stink of cigarettes out of a home. Lord knows why, but I imagine the air flow allows tar and resin particles to escape, leaving the house smelling more like a house than a tar pit. Don’t be fooled by the claims of odor removal products. If it doesn’t have a cleaning agent in it, you’re not going to get rid of the smoke smell. Scent-generating deodorizers only serve to mask the smell. Once you take them out of the house, you’ll notice the smell of old cigarettes again. Of course, we’ve all heard of Febreze, and wonder why it works. Well, Febreze uses a chemical compound called cyclodextrin that has been used in household and custodial cleaning products for quite some time.
