He suggested I look around a bit more for an aftermarket unit, instead, because the original Ford carbs can be difficult to find. So I found myself a vintage Edelbrock Tri-Power manifold on eBay and had that shipped to Charlie, who then built me a beautiful setup with three finned aluminum air cleaners and a sexy chrome fuel block.I just assumed the Edelbrock unit would sit as low as the stocker. Next, I ordered a nice-looking hood scoop originally designed for the Shelby Cobra -- an appropriate period look, if you can call mounting a scoop on a Lincoln "appropriate"! I suspect this easy-breathing system should up the engine's output some 30 or more

horsepower, if the stock 3x2's performance (on Lincolns in 1958) is a good indicator.
