It is quieter than my central A/C, but I think it might be getting louder as time goes on, but still not unbearable. Not at all convenient to use. It seems to work well in small places, but it is a discontinued model so I can't get refills :( I have two small dogs and this seems to help with some of the dander. I have it in the living room.
