1. What is mold?Molds are classified into 3 groups: microfungi, mushrooms and dry-rot fungi. Mold forms spores which can remain dormant for long periods of time and resist harsh environmental conditions and chemicals. Whenever nutrients and moisture are present in sufficient amounts, spores germinate to form hyphae. Fungal growth continues when still air, adequate moisture and nutrients are available. 2. How does mold cause illness?Disorders caused or aggravated by indoor exposure to mold are a major public health concern. Mycotoxins formed by mold can result in illness. 3. Does Sporicidin® Disinfectant Solution require dilution?Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution is ready to use and should not be diluted. Please follow all label directions. 4. Does using Sporicidin® Disinfectant Solution require special precautions?Exercise good chemical hygiene and protect eyes and skin from exposure.  Read label and SDS for more details and for first aid instructions.  Do not use or apply this product if someone with a chemical sensitivity is present.

5. How is Sporicidin® Brand Disinfectant Solution useful in residential mold and mildew clean-up and prevention after water damage occurs?Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution is recommended for disinfecting hard, non-porous surfaces and for deodorizing after floodwater and sewage backflow.   Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution provides continuous residual activity against odor causing bacteria for up to 6 months after application.For cleaning concrete and other porous floors after floodwater and sewage backflow, use Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner (ENZ) to soften and breakdown filth and organic contamination.  Before use, ensure that there is no bleach or other chemical residue in or on the concrete.  Dilute and apply Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner (ENZ) according to the label instructions.  Extract with hot water and treat again until floors are clean. 6. Can Sporicidin® Brand Disinfectant Solution be used to clean up blood at crime and accident scenes?Yes, Sporicidin Disinfectant solution complies with OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard and is recommended for use in cleaning up blood and bodily fluids. 

Sporicidin is effective against both enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, bacteria, fungi and Tuberculosis.  Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution been tested for and has demonstrated efficacy in the presence of 5% soil. 7. What can be done about odors in pet areas and on carpeting?Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner (ENZ) is a concentrate that contains lipase, protease and amylase to break down organic contamination.  When diluted according to label instructions, ENZ can be used to treat stains and waste in pet areas and carpet.  Extract and rinse with water. 8. How is Sporicidin® Brand Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner used?It dissolves and cleans blood, body fluids and other debris present before disinfecting the contaminated areas. 1 quart makes 16 gallons of cleaning solution.  Apply enough diluted solution to the contaminated area to keep wet.  As long as the solution is wet, the enzymes will work to break down proteins, fatty materials and starches.  Remove softened contamination and rinse when finished.

9. Can Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution be used to clean air ducts?Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution can be used when cleaning air ducts, but because the EPA has ruled that air ducts cannot be disinfected, this product is not recommended for air duct applications other than cleaning mold off of hard non-porous surfaces such as registers and vents.  indoor air quality purifierPour a small amount of Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution onto a cleaning cloth or use presaturated Sporicidin Disinfectant Towelettes to wipe away mold and other contamination.air purifier for toddler room 10. Doing so violates federal law and if the two chemicals are incompatible, the results may create toxic fumes or other potential health hazards. Always follow label instructions. 11. Would Sporicidin® Brand Disinfectant solution be the best product for general surface cleaning, or should I use Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner?It depends... if the surface is not visibly contaminated or if only a few square feet need cleaning, then the disinfectant solution can also be used as the cleaner.  However, if there is heavy, visible contamination or if you have a lot of surface area that must be cleaned, Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner is more practical and economical, but the surface should be disinfected afterwards with Sporicidin Disinfectant. 12. What is the difference between Sporicidin® Brand Disinfectants and Sporicidin® Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner?Sporicidin Disinfectants are EPA-registered hospital disinfectants that meet all of the EPA requirements for disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces and can be used for a variety of applications and organisms.

Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution also provides limited bacteriostatic residual protection of treated surfaces.Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner is a highly concentrated enzyme-based detergent cleaner containing 3 enzymes (lipase, amylase, protease) that are designed to provide accelerated cleaning action to get out stubborn soils, stains, and contaminates.  One quart will make 16 gallons of ready-to-use cleaner and does not contain bacterial enzymes like other enzyme-based products and therefore does not have the limitations of those products. It is made of all natural, plant-derived enzymes that are nontoxic, biodegradable, safe and meets the EPA's requirements as a Designed For The Environment (DfE) program. Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution kills organisms, deodorizes, and cleans; Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Stain Cleaner cleans and deodorizes only. 13. Is Sporicidin a good choice to use on the wood frame of our home and concrete floors? Sporicidin is a great choice for hard non-porous surfaces found throughout hospital, industrial, institutional, and residential sites.
