It can also support most light kits used in residential or commercial ceiling fan installations. Activated charcoal in the filters eliminates odors in the entire room, creating a clean, fresh, odor-free environment that people really notice. In clubs, lounges, bars or homes where smoking is an issue, optional smoke filters add an additional layer of potassium permanganate and alumina to reduce smoke odors. Most homeowners can install a Purifan in about 45 minutes, and all it takes is a screwdriver. Just remove the blades from your existing ceiling fan, then attach the mounting brackets and the Purifan itself, and you’ll be enjoying clean, filtered air. It uses a standard ceiling fan motor to spin at an amazingly silent 200 to 220 RPM. Purifan is the quietest air purifier that moves enough air to make a significant impact on the airborne pollutants in a 20 x 20 x 8 foot room.  This makes it perfect for use in bedrooms, baby's room, TV watching areas, clubs, restaurants, offices, daycares and classrooms. Many floor or shelf-model air cleaners use a small, high-speed fan motor to move the air, creating a sound like a vacuum cleaner. They create so much noise, it’s difficult to sleep, talk, watch TV or carry on a normal conversation. You could turn them to a lower, quieter speed, but that makes them ineffective at cleaning the air.
