Our Source Removal Techniques are standard in our pricing and superior to methods used by many other companies. Service-Tech technicians use manual entry with contact vacuuming in order to most effectively clean the dirt from the surfaces of the ductwork, including the louvers and dampers. The interior of all accessible ductwork is cleaned with a high-efficiency particulate air-filter (HEPA) vacuum. Access openings are cut into ductwork and prefabricated sheet metal cover plates installed, where necessary. This allows us to access all the ductwork for cleaning and inspection. When finished, these cover plates are fastened with sheet metal screws and sealed to prevent air leakage. During the entire process, STC protects your home with negative pressure within the duct system and clean drop cloths and other suitable coverings outside the system.

Midwest Duct Cleaning Services has the following credentials to provide the quality assurance you need for effective, safe and reliable services: NADCA National Air Duct Cleaners Association BOMA Building Owners and Managers Association ASHRAE American Society of Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers AFE Association of Facilities Engineers Midwest Duct Cleaning Services will provide visual inspections of your HVAC systems utilizing video and/or digital photography to ascertain and document system conditions. This service will provide you an assessment of the system’s current condition, help you determine and prioritize what services may be required, and verify that subsequent work is successfully completed.

Prior to beginning any project, detailed job specifications are established to clearly define the work to be performed. A dedicated Project Manager and the use of proven tracking and monitoring systems ensure that job specifications and the Midwest’s high standards of quality control are met. Job specifications may include a post project report with video/photographic documentation of the project’s success. Our cleaning process begins by establishing negative pressure within the duct work via HEPA filtered, high velocity vacuum collectors. This pressure is maintained throughout the cleaning to remove the debris from the duct work and prevent the escape of debris into occupied spaces. Next, the debris is loosened from the duct surface through mechanical agitation achieved by the use of various cable-driven and/or robotic brush systems. Finally, high pressure air is utilized to direct the debris toward the vacuum collection hose. Air handling units, VAV boxes, in-line reheat coils and other system components are accessed, cleaned by hand, and then reassembled.

Fiberglass material is commonly used to line the internal surfaces of duct work and air handling units. Over time, this material is often subject to microbial contamination, air erosion and general deterioration. Midwest offers various solutions including replacement with new insulation, replacement with a durable polymer foam liner, or the application of a repair coating to the existing insulation. Application of coating material is often the most cost-effective method, providing a new/enhanced air stream and locking down loose and deteriorated fibers. All coating products utilized are EPA registered and contain an anti-microbial agent that retards the growth of microbial contamination. Midwest’s other services include scheduled coil cleaning, dryer and industrial exhaust cleaning, industrial ceiling/high structure cleaning and the restoration of rusted and deteriorated air handler drain pans. We have assisted many engineers and consultants in the development of specifications, and we work closely with the insurance and fire restoration industry when HVAC systems have incurred fire, smoke and water damage.
