air cleaner for 4 barrel

1965 Shelby GT350 Fastback Shelby No. 377, Same Owner For 38 Years This 1965 GT350 has remained in the care of one lucky enthusiast owner for the past 38 years, and its listing has appeared in the Shelby American Registry since the first edition. This GT350 received third place in popular voting at 1981 Monterey SAAC Convention as well as third in the concours at another National SAAC gathering in Portland. The car also won Best in Class at the Portland Roadster Show. Carefully maintained by the same owner since 1978, in 2015 the car returned to that beautiful area of Northern California and attended the Rolex Monterey Motorsports 50th Anniversary celebration at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Featuring the original drivetrain, including the matching-numbers 289 CI V-8 engine and aluminum case Borg Warner T10 4-speed transmission, it rides on Goodyear Eagle GT white-letter radial tires with Cragar wheels and a Blue Dot spare on a fifth Cragar wheel. The undercarriage was refinished while the suspension sports rebuilt original Koni shocks.
The car still wears the original brake drums and shoes along with a Detroit Locker 9-inch powder-coated rear end. Currently fed by twin Carter carburetors on a custom-built bottom plate to allow for a COBRA oval air cleaner and bent Monte Carlo bar, the car is offered with the original air cleaner, straight Monte Carlo bar, small-lettered single 4-barrel intake and two 715 center-pivot float Holley carburetors. The GT350 still has its original shifter and horn switch, Ray Brown seat belts, package shelf and tachometer, while the dash pad, center pod, carpet, headliner, seat upholstery and foam were replaced during an older restoration. Delivered new to Courtesy Motors in Englewood, Colorado, this GT350 has been garage kept and the Shelby number and Ford VIN correspond with the Shelby American factory records. There are several reasons that can cause backfire in an Edelbrock carburetor, including high-alcohol gasoline, carb adjustment level, engine temperature, speed reduction rate, muffler construction and the carburetor's sensitivity of internal transitional passage. Edelbrock carburetors are unaffected by engine backfires. How do you use carb cleaner? What is the function of a carburetor? How do you troubleshoot a carburetor?
Backfiring is a condition of the engine popping or banging when idling down. Some possible causes for engine backfires include:Speed reduction rateA quick rate of speed reduction and turning the engine off at a high RPM can cause fuel to ignite in a hot muffler, causing a backfire.Alcohol level of gasolineHigh levels of alcohol in gasoline can cause the engine to run hotter and it ignites easier, both of which cause backfiring.Muffler, solenoid or carburetor issuesThe type of muffler may cause backfire or afterfire. Another cause may be the timing on the carburetor or a faulty anti-afterfire solenoid.Troubleshooting issuesReduce speed to idle in order to cool down engine before shutting it off. Change to reduce alcohol fuel and adjust the carburetor's settings.Consulting with dealershipIf troubleshooting does not resolve backfiring issues, consult with an authorized dealer or the Edelbrock website for further assistance.
